We Give Back
When The Mattress Hub opened in 2006 in a small mall location, we had the dream of opening multiple locations across the state. We knew it would take more than selling a lot of mattresses to make this happen. It was going to take investing in our employees, our customers, and our communities. We invest in our employees by giving them a voice in the business, and ensuring they are educated in the latest sleep trends and care about the importance of sleep. We invest in our customers by providing superior service, the lowest prices, and the best selections of mattresses and sleep accessories. Then there’s our community. We are passionate about giving back to non-profits, churches, and other charitable organizations. This means we are truly locally owned, operated, and invested.
How do we give back to our community? When we deliver your mattress, we will haul off your old one. But, just because we haul off your old mattress, doesn’t mean we throw it away. We find organizations that can use mattresses that are clean and in good condition so people they help will have a comfortable sleep surface. If we have a mattress that can’t be donated we recycle it through Freedom Challenge/H.O.P.E Project. This program partners with the Hutchinson, KS, correctional facility for inmate life skills training.
We also support other non-profits through donations and investments. Some of the organizations that are close to our hearts are:
- #loveschools- They focus on connecting the community to the classroom via resources, engagement and investment.
- Gathered- This organization focuses on reforming the foster care system by collaborating resources, training, and support for foster families and children.
- Firm Foundations Ministries- They support incarcerated men and women with transitional housing and life strategies for successful re-introduciton into society.
We are excited to continue to invest in our community. Most people replace their mattress every 7-8 years. And while it can be an expense, there are individuals out there who don’t have a bed at all. We are committed to doing our best to limit our landfill footprint by recycling old mattresses and making beds more accessible to others by donating old mattresses. We also donate any mattress or sleep accessory that is returned or exchanged. We never resell them as new.
